Topics and Replies
Start a discussion, reply in a thread, and format your posts with Markdown on a Barazo forum.
Discussions on Barazo happen in topics. A topic has a title, a first post, and a thread of replies underneath. Topics live inside categories, which group them by subject.
Starting a topic
- Select New topic.
- Choose a category. Some forums nest categories, so pick the most specific one that fits.
- Write a title and your post.
- Publish.
Titles are what people scan in a category list, so a clear one gets more replies than a vague one.
Formatting with Markdown
Posts use Markdown. You get:
- Headings, bold, and italics
- Bulleted and numbered lists
inline codeand fenced code blocks- Links and quotes
- Images, where the forum allows uploads
A live preview shows the rendered result as you type, so you can check formatting before publishing.
Replying
Open a topic and use the reply box at the bottom. Replies thread: a reply attaches to the post it answers, and the conversation nests visually. That keeps a busy topic readable instead of collapsing into one flat list.
To answer a specific reply rather than the topic as a whole, use its own reply action. Your response appears indented beneath it.
Editing
You can edit your own topics and replies after posting. Because the post is a record in your own account, editing updates that record and the forum re-indexes it.
Posts held for review
Some forums review new posts before they go public. If yours does, you'll see a note that your topic or reply is awaiting a moderator. It appears to everyone once approved. This is a per-forum setting, and many forums publish immediately.
Where your posts go
Every topic and reply is written to your AT Protocol account first, then indexed by the forum. You own the original. See Your account and identity for what that means in practice.
