Staying Safe

Barazo gives you controls over what you see and who can reach you, plus a way to flag content for the people who run the forum. Some controls are yours alone. Others hand the decision to a moderator.

Mute

Muting someone hides their posts and replies from you, quietly. They aren't told, and they can still see and reply to your posts. You just stop seeing theirs. Use it to turn down noise from someone you'd rather not read.

Block

Blocking is stronger. A blocked user can't interact with you, and you won't see each other's activity on the forum. Blocks on AT Protocol are public records, so unlike a mute, a block is visible. Use it when muting isn't enough.

Report

If a post breaks the forum's rules, report it. Reporting sends it to the forum's moderators with your reason, and they decide what to do: leave it, remove it, or act on the account. Reporting is how you flag a problem without having to argue it in the thread.

You can see the reports you've filed and their status from your settings.

Mature content

Forums can mark content as mature and filter it. Depending on the forum's setup and your own preference, mature content may be hidden behind a warning or filtered out entirely. You control your own threshold where the forum allows it.

What's yours versus the forum's

• Mute and block are yours. They change your experience and take effect immediately.
• Reports go to moderators. You raise the flag, and they make the call.
• Mature-content filtering is a mix. The forum sets what's marked, and you set how much you want to see.

If a moderator acts on your post

Moderation hides or removes a post on that forum. The original record still lives in your account, because you own it. See Your account and identity for how that separation works.
