Categories
Create, nest, and order the categories that organize a Barazo forum.
Categories are how a forum is organized. Every topic lives in one, and categories can nest, so you can group a broad area into more specific sub-categories.
Creating a category
From Categories in the admin area, add a category and fill in:
- Name (up to 100 characters)
- Slug (up to 50 characters, unique within your forum) used in the category's URL
- Description (optional, up to 500 characters)
- Parent category (optional) to nest it under another
- Maturity rating (safe, mature, or adult), see Content maturity
Nesting and ordering
Categories are arranged in a drag-and-drop tree. Drag a category to reorder it or to move it under a different parent. There's no fixed limit on how deep you nest, but a shallow tree is easier for members to scan. New categories are added at the end of the list.
Maturity
A category can't be marked less mature than the forum's default. If your forum's default is "mature", a category can be mature or adult, but not safe. Raising the forum-wide default is blocked while a category still sits below the new level. See Content maturity for how the levels work.
