Administration
Run and moderate a Barazo forum. The management tool is the same whether you self-host or use managed hosting.
This section is for whoever runs a Barazo forum. The tool is the same no matter how the forum is hosted, so the forum-management and moderation pages here apply to everyone. The parts that differ, installing and maintaining a server versus billing and domains, live in the two hosting sub-sections at the bottom.
Becoming an administrator
The first person to finish the setup wizard on a new forum becomes its administrator. From there you reach the admin area from your account menu once you're signed in as that account.
What you can manage
- Categories: create, nest, and order the sections your forum is organized into
- Topics and moderation: lock, pin, and remove content, review held posts, and act on accounts
- Rules: write and version your community's rules
- Branding: logos, favicon, and colors
- Content maturity: mark and filter mature content
- Onboarding: the fields new members complete before posting
General settings
A few forum-wide settings live in the admin Settings page rather than a section of their own: the community name and description, the reaction style members see (likes, votes, or emoji), the community's default maturity rating, and how deeply replies can nest.
Hosting
How you keep the forum running depends on where it lives:
- Self-hosting: run it on your own server with Docker
- Managed hosting: billing, domains, and settings for a hosted forum
